Have you ever been stuck waiting for your flight to take off? Maybe a little bored? Most people might nap across the seats, read a book, or partake in some casino fun. But none of those ideas took place during Richard Dunn’s overnight stay at Las Vegas’ McCarran International airport.

Dunn, a lighting designer out of Georgia, voluntarily gave up his seats twice on oversold Delta flights for a night spent alone lip synching a music video to Celine Dion’s All By Myself.

Delta did offer to put Dunn in a hotel for the night. But he felt that it wasn’t worth it to get four hours of sleep before his 6 A.M flight

“I thought, well I don’t have enough time to go to a hotel,” said Dunn. So what do I do? I’ve got my phone and an empty movie set, lets see what trouble I can get into.”

Dunn started googling songs about being alone and then All By Myself came on.

“Our dear Canadian sister started streaming in my headphones,All By Myself and I thought ‘that’s it, that’s pure movie gold.”

He began shooting the video using his iPhone at 2 A.M when only cleaners were left in the terminals.

The video starts off asking the question, “What do you do when you’re stuck at the Las Vegas Airport overnight? Shoot a music on your iPhone. That’s what.” From there Dunn displays himself in humorous shots displaying his loneliness including him behind the Delta help desk, sitting next to a woman silhouette, spinning around, and of course lip synching the entire thing.

Celine Dion even responded by posting a video of her own on Youtube.

“Hi Richard, I have to say that the video was hilarious, and very touching. I loved it. But next time you’re stuck all by yourself at Las Vegas airport, for hours and hours, please be a guest at my show. And, by the way Richard, you’re more than welcome to use my bathroom. So I hope to see you soon.”

The video has been viewed more than 12.6 million times since as of this post
